The Art of Balance
Hello everyone! I hope your week went well and that you were able to accomplish everything you set out to do in the midst of the chaos of this thing called "Life". As many of you may know I just had my first child and there's nothing like that life changing event to put things into perspective, which gets me into what today's post is about. I know you can relate to having too much to get done and not enough hours in the day to get it done. We can all put things into different boxes. You have your family box, work box, personal box, and if you have kid(s) it just gets more stressful. I am no expert but I will try my best to convey some of the tips I use to balance all the demands on my time, and maybe, just maybe it'll help someone who reads this. If you have any recommendations or things you do to organize your life and all the demands that are placed on you feel free to share in the post on Facebook, or

Let's get right into it! Of, course I want everyone to take the time out for their own self care by maintaining their exercise routine, and getting consistent massage, so let's start there. You can't get up early because of work, or you may not be a morning person. You can't get to the gym because you work too late, and you have to cook for your family and make sure the kid(s) has eaten, done homework and the whole nine, or you just don't have the energy. Here are several things that I implement and hopefully you can work it in to your daily routine.
If time is a problem for you try do a short more intense workout. Workouts do not have to be an hour or more for you to maintain or make gains in your fitness. The only thing you have to remember is you have to go all out if you shorten your workout. It's not about length of time it's about quality.
You can lay out your workout clothes and water bottle and towel so that you save time getting set up, or if you can make it to the gym, pack a gym back and put in your truck ready to go when you need it. This may not seem like much but it will save you a lot of time.

Home Videos/Streaming Programs
If you don't have time to go to the gym, there are a myriad of home workout video routines and even streaming programs. You don't have to keep doing the same workout either, as long as you learn the moves from those workouts you can mix what you like and create an entirely new workout for yourself. Just remember to give it all out effort.
You can pick a time of the day that is reserved for your exercise , you may have to sacrifice something else, like that netflix show. As far as energy level is concerned, you must force yourself to sleep at a decent hour in order to have the energy later, other than that it's about discipline, you must fight against your wants to do what you need, I mean if we're honest some of us don't feel like going to work but you need to go.
Another great technique to balance your life is to use lists. Some of us are very visual, which means we learn better when we see it. Psychologically if you see things crossed off a list you feel less stressed, and encouraged because you can actually see your progress! There are lots of apps that will let you do this electronically and even share with your family.
Preparing your meals ahead of time helps out in a major way. Now I know what is hard for me is that cooking a week's worth of meals on one day. Here's a trick, just cook your protein or what is the more complicated part of the meal then store that only, then when you go to eat your meal all you have to do is make the sides, although this takes time it still reduces the amount of time it would take to create the entire meal.
I am sure we will come back to this subject but those are just some of the tools you can use to create that balance. With owning a business I have to wear even more hats and these are just some of the things I use to maintain balance.
